The Open Door
Years traverse the mountain of time
As I flow in the river known as life.
For when the dawn of a new year surfaces
I still swim in past memories in a lake of bliss.
Moments of pleasure and pain,
Joy and sorrow beholden in 365 days;
Each filled with its own sweetness and spice
A cocktail for a colorful life made nice.
The breath for resolution enwreathes me
In hopes of seizing the year.
Indefatigability, a drug, my drug.
Against the penumbra of a sodden year .
A new year opens with a welcoming smile
The rubies of success begin to glimmer
Windows of opportunities will make their show
A new beginning blooms like the English Rose.

Hey guys! I just want to make a quick stop and write a simple poem. Well the inspiration is basically the new year, the new year is like a cave. We don't know what will lie ahead but the light will guide the way.
Any who, this will be my 1st entry for a contest namely
#InspireTheUninspired's Memories and Resolution
Wish me luck!
I decided to be general, meaning that it talks about the experiences I've endured, some sad, some amazing and others. I just want the next year to be more light compared to this one.
Poem (C) Me
Well this MIGHT be my last poem before I resume to drawing. I was already drawing something while writing (multitasking!)
Comments and Criticisms are welcome

Really like this poem! A great theme, and very well written! What I liked the most was the view on life, put perfectly here: "Each filled with its own sweetness and spice
A cocktail for a colorful life made nice."
